The bonus kick-in-the-neumes is that the one responsible for this travesty -- a Fr. Thomas V. Stehle -- is a noted "liturgical consultant"/wreckovator with the FDLC.
According to the diocesan newspaper, Fr. Stehle was personally appointed to the task of selecting the liturgical music by Abp. Wuerl. Wuerl is himself recognized as one of the first U.S. bishops to organize opposition to Summorum Pontificum before the motu proprio was even promulgated. I guess, what better way to thumb your nose at Pope Benedict than by making him listen to Haugen's "Mass of Creation"? How tactless.
I certainly hope that the tip NLM has received turns out to have been a baseless rumor. Please God.
